With City Sister Country Sister, you’re not just painting a beautiful barn quilt that you can proudly display but having a great time doing it with your friends along the way.

The cutoff for signing up for this class will be AUGUST 21st since City Sister Country Sister needs to order all the quilt boards in advance of the workshop.

Our service project is to make twin size quilts for Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

Bargello quilts are colorful and stunning quilts made by joining various strips to create a tapestry-looking quilt. Since the method only uses straight seams, even a beginner quilter can create a beautiful bargello quilt. In this workshop, Nancy will guide participants in making a wall-hanging-sized bargello quilt.

Baravelle spirals have huge "Wow!" factor, yet they are surprisingly easy to design and sew! Using the techniques in RaNae's best-selling book Simply Amazing Spiral Quilts, learn to draw a Baravelle spiral block, then explore lots of ways to color them to create spirals, lightning bolts, pineapples and more. Along the way you'll learn RaNae's "painless paper piecing" techniques. Use your spiral block in a quilt or other project, or a pattern is provided for finishing blocks into potholders.

Quilting with rulers is the latest in free motion quilting skills that everyone wants to try, and most think it is too difficult. Our class provides a way to learn a new technique without a large investment of time and money to students

Annie has designed a special project just for us! Learn the very basic techniques for machine applique. You’ll be surprised how easy it really is — and the learning curve for this is shallow, not a high mountain you’ll have to climb. You can master it in this class and feel confident enough to begin a larger project. You’ll love the simple process of it and you won’t feel intimidated by the A word any more!

Have fun learning paper piecing basics and all the little tricks for success with Mary Hertel. This class is suitable for beginning quilters as well as more advanced students. We will be making two whimsical blocks from Mary’s book, "Sew Yourself a Merry Little Christmas".

This will be a working UFO and BOUTIQUE item making day. Let Barb or Edie know that you will attend and they will make sure you have a table. There is no charge for this day.

MaryJo Busch will teach us to use a color wheel to create combinations of fabrics to create a variety of color schemes. Every student WILL go home with all the color combinations created and sealed in zip top bags and at least one block stitched out to use as a reference.
