Quilt Show News for August 2017
/Boutique
We are very grateful for all the beautiful things members have donated so far to the Boutique. Looking forward to selling them all at the show. We could still use more. If you have not contributed an item, please consider making something for us to sell.
We will be accepting donations at the August and September meetings. We hope to have most things in by the September meeting in order to be able to price them.
Also, please consider volunteering to help sell in the Boutique one shift during the show (see below).
Sign Up to Volunteer at the Show
The Staffing Committee is charged with organizing workers for the quilt show. There are many, many jobs that must be performed to make the show successful. There are 191 time slots to fill, and you can sign up on line. Select the position you want at the specified shift. Each day has three shifts for you to choose from. Easy as pie.
You can also reach the online signup page from the Volunteer page under Show on the Village Quilters web site. Every Village Quilters member is expected to work at least two shifts.
Call if you have any trouble.

Quilt Appraisals at Quilts from the Village XV
We have over 200 quilts entered for the show. There is still time to sign up for a quilt appraisal. I would recommend that you sign up soon, because for the first time we will open up the appraisals to the public. Beginning in September, we will invite the general public to bring a quilt to the show to be appraised. Now is the time to get your name on the appraisal list. Please call or email me to sign up for an appraisal or two. The cost is $50.00 for each appraisal (cash or check). Our appraiser, Sandy Schweitzer, donates $5.00 from each appraisal back to the guild. You can also see me at our regular guild meetings to sign up. Don’t wait too long — reserve your spot soon.

Check-In and Check-Out
For checking-in your quilts: During September we will provide each quilt with a 4" x 6" Identification Card, which will include the name of the quilt, the name of the quilter, and the address assigned to the quilt for the show layout. Please attach this card to the back of each quilt with two safety pins.
Check-Out will commence only when all the quilts and other stuff has been dismantled and the truck has been loaded. We hope as many Village Quilters as possible will participate in taking down the show, so that it may happen swiftly and smoothly. Thank you!
Silent Auction
The Silent Auction committee has about 40 quilts. We need to at least double that amount. We will receive items up to and during the show, but it is much easier to catalog and label them if we have them by Thursday evening (October 12), when we will set up the auction. On September 24 the committee will meet to organize and label all the quilts we have.
