Come one! Come all! Brown Bag Hustle is Coming!
Pack your bags! Raid your Stash! We look forward to your donations for our annual Ways and Means Committee Fundraiser at the January 21st, 2020 meeting.
Drop off starts at 5:30 pm and the meeting begins early at 6:30 pm. We are not fussy; we’ll take most anything but would particularly appreciate antique quilt tops, partially finished quilts, table runners, wall quilts, special quilting equipment, and any other item worthy of Silent Auction attention versus Raffle. If you would like a pickup, help, or information, please contact Donna Fitzgerald.
BRING YOUR FRIENDS! FUN FOR ALL!

February 2020 Workshop News
There's been a slight change in the Fractured Fat Quarters workshop on Wednesday, February 19th. Marla Yeager, the instructor, wants you, the participants, to learn the technique without risking any of your precious fabric, so she has let us know that she will bring small kits for everyone to learn on. The fabrics will come from her stash. The kit includes a pattern, the fabric prep (starching, pressing, and stacking) will be already done for you, and there will be no additional charge for any of it! How generous is that?
We still have openings in the Fractured Fat Quarters workshop. If you are interested, please go online to register and pay. If you have non-member friends who would be interested, they can do the same. We'd love to fill this final workshop of the fiscal year! Remember, at Village Quilters workshops, you can always count on conversation, laughter, learning, fun, and possibly chocolate! See you there!

News from the President
2020 has arrived! This is the year that I enter the next decade, 70! I can’t believe it. Around me I see those who are older, younger and the same age as I. I have decided to greet 70 with the class, spirit and energy that I witness in our guild members. Thank you all for the great examples that you are.
Don’t forget the Brown Bag Hustle at our January meeting. If you have a large item, please let Donna Fitzgerald know. I’ll tell her right now that I have an oak quilt stand that I will be bringing.
I am taking care of business and I just signed up for the February 19th workshop, Fractured Fat Quarter Quilt with Marla Yeager. If you haven’t taken a workshop for a while, think about how much fun you had at the last workshop you attended. You will learn and have a good time. Not bad for a $50 investment!
We are coming up to April when we will present the next board – see next article. Please be thinking about what role you can take.

If you are interested in serving on the committee or on the Board, please contact Barbara Schober.
The open positions will be:
President
Vice President-Membership (2 members)
Advance Programs (2 members)

Assistant Treasurer
A Note from Paducah
Village Quilters received the following note from Frank Bennett, Chief Executive Officer,
The National Quilt Museum
Village Quilters,
I was looking through the results from your 2019 show and I just wanted to write you a note and tell you how great I think the raffle quilt was. That quilt could hang here at the museum any time!

Quilt Show 2021 – Quilts from the Village XVII
I hope you all have enjoyed your holidays. We had a great time at the Holiday Party at the December meeting.
I am planning to chair the quilt show in 2021 (I can't believe that number). I am looking for someone to co-chair with the idea that she will be the chair for the 2023 show. It is much easier to do this job if you have some experience. It really isn't a hard job because we have fabulous sub-chairwomen who do the majority of the work. Your responsibility is to see that those jobs are completed, work with the venue, and get to know a lot more members. Please let me know if you are interested or have questions.

The guild has been asked to participate in Lake Bluff’s 125th Anniversary by designing, making and presenting a quilt for their celebration. If you are interested in being involved talk to Linda Spring. She has agreed to chair this effort.
