Quilt Show 101...
This meeting is very important in preparation for our show. Please do your best to attend. We will discuss all the necessary tasks in preparation for our upcoming show. Each of you that entered quilts in the show will receive the printed ID cards which are to be attached to the quilts.
You can turn in your Boutique and/or your Silent Auction donations this evening. If you are unable to deliver your quilts at the assigned time on Thursday, October 3, or unable to pick up your quilts at the end of the show on Saturday, October 5, you will be able to make arrangements with a guild member to help you.
During this meeting, we will demonstrate how to set up the quilt stands and how to hang the quilts. You might not be signed up to do this job, but information is powerful.
If you have forgotten what you signed up to bring to the hospitality room, Edie or Yolande will be able to tell you.
We will identify when and where additional volunteers are needed, and you will be able to step up and help out. If you have any questions about procedures, where you should be, or what you should be doing...Don’t miss our September meeting, it will be a biggie!
News from the President
Friends,
Where did the summer go? Kids are back in school, but the farmer’s markets are still open. Win, win, I guess. We have all completed our quilt entries. Yes? Labels, bindings and hanging sleeves are all in place? Oops, maybe I’m telling on myself.
I still have some donations yet to complete for the boutique. But I am not worried; there are almost five more weeks until the show.
I hope that each of you are planning to donate as many hours as you can at our show. When we are at the retreat or at a bee, we enjoy ourselves whether we are sewing, sitting, or sharing a meal. We are with friends and spending time promoting what we all enjoy doing. This is why I hope each of you look at your involvement at the show. We will be tired at the end of the day on October 5, but won’t you be proud?
Marti Austin, President

Watch for the sign-up sheet at the September membership meeting. You may also contribute cash instead of food.
Quilt Show Set Up and Take Down
We need three or four more people to be “Chiefs” for set up and take down. The role includes knowing how the backdrops and quilts are hung, collecting the equipment that the group needs, reading the layout, knowing where you are working, and recruiting friends to help. Please contact Marti Austin if you are willing to do this job.
Raffle Tickets Committee: Sue Ann Kuby and Kathy Avellone
Last chance to get your raffle tickets! Sue Ann Kuby and Kathy Avellone will have your raffle tickets available at the September membership meeting. Please remember that each member is required to purchase 30 raffle tickets for $25.
