Quilt Show News for August 2015
/A Plea from the Silent Auction Committee:
Our quilt show is less than two months away! We know that we have all been consumed by getting our quilts ready and registered, but now is the time to turn our attention to silent auction donations.
Remember, these small quilts can be turned in up to the day of the show. Please make an item to contribute to this important fund raiser. With all the talent in our guild we are confident that many wonderful creations are on their way.

Scrapapalooza
Scrapapalooza final sorting date:
Thursday, August 20, 1-3 p.m.
Lets get it done! We have 150 bags stuffed, and 150 to go! Meet at a Gayle Springer's home in Lake Forest (see the roster for the address). See you there!
Each Quilt Requires a Hanging Sleeve!
Every quilt that is going to be hung in the show (except those in the Art Quilt Challenge) requires a 4-in. hanging sleeve on the back. If you need instructions to make a hanging sleeve, Tallgrass Prairie Studio has a great tutorial on adding a 4-in. hanging sleeve. The link is also on our website.
Want to see a video? American Quilter's Society has a YouTube video about adding a sleeve that includes a sleeve modification for very wide quilts.
If you use a temporary sleeve, please baste it to the quilt (don't pin it).
Volunteers Needed for Transporting Equipment
I need about 8 more people to pick up the stands and poles at Nancy Smith's house in Lake Forest at 8 a.m. on the Wednesday morning before the show and the same number to return them on Saturday after the show.

Boutique
The Boutique is still accepting donations of items from members to sell at the quilt show. Items such as ornaments, mug rugs, table runners, pincushions, pot holders, etc are welcome. Bring them to the August or September guild meeting and give them to Judi Young. Thanks to everyone who has already donated items. 100% of the sale of these items will go to the guild.
