Our July speaker is Lenore Crawford, who will treat us to a special presentation, Award winning techniques to Create an Art Quilt.
In her lecture Lenore shows how she has progressed from creating art with many different mediums to using 2” squares to create impressionistic fabric art. After many years using this technique, she changed her style from squares to fusing and fabric painting and has won many awards for her work. She will show how she creates an art quilt from her photos and what elements can make an art quilt a winner.
Lenore started a career in a medical laboratory and chemical research laboratory. After many years, she decided to pursue art as a full-time endeavor. Creating art is her dream job. Lenore work has appeared in over seventeen publications. Her work has been presented in thirteen exhibitions. She has won many prizes over the years including Moda Best Wall Quilt at the 2011 AQS Show in Paducah, Kentucky and most recently won the “Outstanding Art Quilt” at Road to California 2017.
